I’m terrible at picking games this year, but at least I have never given a speech where I questioned, “where is (insert name of dead person here)?” Let’s see if things get better for the picks this week.

Miami at Cincinnati (Thur) – Cincy got off the losing train last week, while Miami is unexpectedly 3-0. Lots of folks are going with the home underdog. I’m not ready to abandon the Miami love just yet. Fish 27, Bengals 20

Minnesota at New Orleans (London) – New Orleans has all their playmakers at wide receiver back, but the shine is quickly wearing off the incredibly average QB, who is playing hurt in addition to being incredibly average. If they go with the backup they probably win. However… Norwegians 23, Aints 19

Chicago at NY Giants – The battle of teams whose records are far better than the teams actually are. Slight edge to the home team. Little People 20, bear cubs 14

Buffalo at Baltimore – Is there any reaction to a loss better than Bills OC Ken Dorsey after the loss to Miami? Absolutely not. This week they are in another battle that probably goes down to the last second. Ravens 26, Buffalo, NC 23

Cleveland at Atlanta – The Browns defense is starting to round into form. Atlanta is very up-and-down. I don’t think there is enough offense to combat the rising Browns defense. Browns 27, Falcons 21

Jacksonville at Philadelphia – Break up the Jags! Was the egotistical college coach really that bad? Yes he was, but this is stepping up 2 levels in competition. Eagles 31, Jags 17

LA Chargers at Houston – The Texans have been extremely competitive but have yet to pull out a win. LA should be able to bounce back from the surprise whipping by the Jags. Clippers 27, Texans 13

NY Jets at Pittsburgh – NY is counting on Zach Wilson’s return to propel them forward (yeah, I know galactically stupid pun). Pittsburgh is starting to show the expected struggles on offense. J-E-T-S jets jets jets jets jets jets jets jets jets jets 20, Steelers 17

Seattle at Detroit – Like Pittsburgh, Seattle is starting to settle in to the “struggling” role we all thought they would this year. Detroit is very much improved. Lions 34, Seahawks 21

Tennessee at Indianapolis – Two teams that no one thought would enter week 3 without a win. There seems to be more promise on the Indy offense. Colts 24, Titans 16

Washington at Dallas – After week 1, Washington fans were feeling full of themselves while Dallas fans were wondering how they go forward with their stud QB on the shelf. It’s been opposite in game results since for both. Those trends continue. Cowboys 34, Commanders 17

Denver at Las Vegas – LV is completely finished if they don’t win, and it looks like Denver has a good defense. I think the home team does just enough. Raiders 19, Donkeys 13

New England at Green Bay – Rodgers appears to be building solid connections with his receivers. The Pats “let’s let our defensive coordinator run the offense” experiment is not going well. No reason to think things will change this week. Packers 27, Patriots 14

Kansas City at Tampa Bay – Super Bowl From a Couple Years Ago Rematch! Tampa isn’t doing as well as they should be offensively. Given the state of the people of middle Florida recovering from the terrible hurricane, I think the home team will come together to provide a feel-good story. Bucs 28, Chiefs 24

LA Rams at San Francisco (Mon) – How did a team as good as this manage to score only 10 on Denver? And how the QB have no idea where he was and step out of the end zone without being forced? There is also the 100-game losing streak LA has in the regular season to SF. Should be an interesting game. Rams 23, 49ers 20

Arizona at Carolina – I’m 0-3 picking my favorite team’s games. So I should purposely pick them to lose, right? Well, there are very real issues with my guys, most notably that the offense is not doing as good as it should, especially the receivers. What is also true is that the defense is legit, and Arizona is missing 2 of its exceptional playmakers. Very slight edge to the home team. PANTHERS 26, Cardinals 24

Last week’s record: 7-9
