The Story

My name is James Edgar and I live in Charlotte, NC. I was born and raised in the Dayton, OH area. I came to Charlotte to attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (GO 49ERS!). I couldn’t finish and get my finance degree because I couldn’t fulfill the 2-course science requirement. I found a temporary job at what is now known as Bank of America as an administrative assistant in 1994.

The job became permanent, and it was work I enjoyed. I worked in several positions at the company for several years. I moved on to Duke Energy in late 1999 as a contractor and became a Duke employee in February 2000. I remained there until I resigned in February 2018 to start my Virtual Assistant business.

The move was family-driven. My wife has numerous health concerns along with a spinal cord injury. Providing adequate care became more extensive to the point where I need to be nearby most of the time. Being a VA is something I can do from our home, and I can quickly respond when a need arises. I quickly found out that it is extremely satisfying to partner with other business owners and help them achieve a new level of success.
